Monopoly of brokerage rights in the stock market: A comparative study

Abstract

The right to brokerage in the stock market is monopolized by brokers registered in that market. This is one of the most important principles regulating the stock market. Most laws regulating the stock market have explicitly stipulated this principle, yet it has raised certain questions, including those related to defining its scope and justifications. This research examines the issues raised by this principle, primarily defining its meaning and scope, the justifications for its adoption, the exceptions to it, and the penalties for violating it.
