International protection of intellectual property in the digital age

Abstract

Protecting intellectual property in the digital age is a key incentive for supporting innovation, encouraging scientific creativity, and developing societies. It has become linked to all areas of life, especially the digital field. Therefore, protecting it has become an urgent legal necessity, especially in light of the rapid technological development and the ease of its exchange through cyberspace. The rapid digital transformation has led to the emergence of new forms of intellectual property infringement, such as hacking, piracy, and counterfeiting, through the exploitation of the internet using illegal methods. The issue of protecting intellectual property has gained the attention of the international community, which has concluded many international agreements for this purpose. Some of them are traditional, which have contributed to establishing the rules of protection and enhancing international cooperation, and others are modern, related to the digital environment, which aim to achieve protection and balance between the rights of creators and the requirements of making knowledge available to the public
